Knowing the NATO Alphabet is invaluable to you as an Engineer regardless of discipline.
You could be using it to read out a serial number, part ID, error codeĀ or a MAC address. It helps to dispel any ambiguity as to what you are pronouncing, which is vital when communicating key information where even the slightest mistake can make delays.
I’m not saying to sit and memorise it right now, but use it slowly in your work and you will notice the benefits immediately (plus it sounds really cool to at least seem to have your stuff together).
